Event Fire Safety

We have a wide range of experience when working with Safety Advisory Groups, event organisers, emergency services, Council event teams and private fire protection services. Over the years, our experience has been working with small fetes, all the way up to larger festivals such as Bournemouth 7s, Bestival, Camp Bestival, Great Dorset Steam Fair, Bournemouth Air Festival, WOMAD, Teddy Rocks, BCP Council Events, Tolpuddle Martyrs Festival, Dorset County Show, Ottery St Mary Tar Barrels, AFC Bournemouth, Swindon Town FC, Dorchester Town FC, Weymouth FC, Poole Pirates Speedway, End of the Road Festival, Pains Fireworks and so on.

In addition to the years of experience, we have attended training from the Emergency Planning College (Cabinet Office) in the form of the following courses:

  • Introduction to Crowd Safety Management
  • CM3 Crowd Modelling, Management & Movement
  • Working in Safety Advisory Groups
  • Introduction to Resilience Direct

We are able to provide fire safety advice, relevant fire risk assessment and on-site fire safety management as required, including urgent call out retention. We also offer an audit service where we will review your fire safety paperwork (strategy, risk assessment, event management plan capacity calculations and so on) and feed back recommendations to you. This may be useful if attending a Safety Advisory Group meeting with the Local Authority, or just to satisfy your own audit against compliance. Attendance at a Safety Advisory Group Meeting can be provided if required, of which we have extensive experience.

To support event organisers, we have developed a free tool which allows you to easily calculate exit widths, whether you are working to the Purple Guide or to the Open Air Events & Venues CLG Guide. This can be found here.
