Fire risk assessment services are unregulated.

Unfortunately there is a risk that you could employ the services of someone with limited knowledge and understanding of fire and fire safety.

Below are some of the guidelines from the National Fire Chiefs Council (NFCC) that give assistance to this:

  • Be satisfied that the fire risk assessor who carries out the work is competent
  • Check that they have experience of working for your kind of business and premises
  • Be clear about the scope of the work to be carried out
  • It is advisable to ask for proof that they have sufficient professional indemnity insurance

In doing so you are selecting a competent person to carry out a fire risk assessment.

All of our premises fire risk assessments are produced professionally, in colour, with photographs. The majority of our reports are based on the PAS79 format, which is the Publicly Available Specification format used by the industry and are written in simple non-jargon plain English to assist you to understand its content. You will also receive a summary of the ‘significant findings’ in the form of an action plan for you to progress (with our recommendations) and to ensure compliance with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.

Events and some very small simple premises will receive reports appropriate for the size of the event/building.
